Job Description
The Commercial Specification Representative will promote the clients product lines, namely HanStone , Staron , elements and Accolade Quartz and Marble Premium RF floor tile to Architects, Designers and Specifiers in order to generate product specifications.


Key Responsibilities

Identify all strategic Architect & Design (A&D) firms within the territory and systematically profile each prospect identifying key influencers: Principals, Directors, Senior Spec Writers, and Interior Designers with whom relationships must be established.
Re-establish contact and further develop relationships with existing prospects in this territory.
Construct a detailed prospect profile and document key contact interactions in the the clients program.
Provide design, application and other support to prospect firms.
Develop individual specification strategy for each prospect firm.
Ensure that all prospects in the territory are up-to-date with product samples and literature.
Be responsible for generating and tracking the progress of product specifications from product selection through to installation. Working in collaboration with the corresponding Field Sales Representative(s), defend specifications by working with the chain of architects, designers, owners, general contractors and fabricators.
Be responsible for promoting and reinforcing company and brand quality in regional markets, research, schedule and participate in regional architect and design trade shows, exhibitions and associations where necessary.
Develop a territory overview of the top prospect firms including competitive information, issues and road blocks.
Give presentations for Architects & Designers.
Other tasks as assigned.

College Degree or equivalent experience.
At least two years of demonstrated ability in commercial business development/ sales environment.
Exposure to the solid surface, engineered stone and granite industries, its practices, approaches is advantageous.
Handling objections by taking initiative & finding creative solutions is critical.
Ability to clearly communicate and manage performance is a must.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with prospect firms key personnel.
Demonstrate consultative selling skills.
Work independently with minimum supervision and have excellent time management ability.
Work in and adapt to a changing business environment. Identify opportunities for competitive advantage with new and existing products.
Team player who has a record of achieving company and team objectives.
Intermediate computing skills.

Requirements
Willingness to travel within this territory on a daily basis.
Must have own vehicle with a valid drivers license with good driving record.

Physical ability to lift and carry products and materials weighing up to approximately 30 pounds.
Willingness to travel periodically beyond your territory to attend sales meetings / trade shows.
