Job Description
Technical Support Engineer
I would best describe this position as 50% general Network Admin, and 50% WAN Administration. The key to the position is experience creating secure communications between sites through tunneling. Other aspects include threat detection, monitoring and defense. Experience with CISCO VPN or like Routers required. Of course sound general Network Administration skills are required as well. Prefer 7+years experience, but it really isnt how long youve been doing the work, its how well you know it and what you have done while employed.

Primary responsibility:
Keep installed applications and systems operating smoothly, up to date (Security Update, Anti-viral updates, etc.) and trouble free. OK that last one isnt completely possible but it is our end goal. Provide secure communication portals for remote software updates and troubleshooting.

Other Responsibilities:
Research and answer Field personnel and Customers questions concerning installed systems
Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues in programs.
Participate in system integration and testing of new programs.
Assist with system documentation and testing system after updates are applied.
Work on multiple projects and deal with changing priorities.
Work effectively with multi-functional teams.

Requirements
Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field (Experience and knowledge far out way a degree.#
Minimum 2 years experience in workstation/server support
Experience
Experience in Win 2000, XP, Vista and Windows Server 2003/2008 OS
Experience in SQL Server 2005 and SQL scripting
Experience in handling OS updates for workstation and server
Experience with Windows Server Update Services
Background using FTP, Telnet a plus
