Providing workstation support at our generating stations, you’ll troubleshoot PC and software problems; help upgrade, install and maintain software, LANs and WANs; serve as network administrator; and diagnose and repair hardware problems affecting IS equipment, including PCs, peripherals, and multifunctional printers. The selected candidate will support EMPAC; help maintain and troubleshoot networking equipment, server hardware, PCs and cellular devices, (including Blackberry devices); coordinate and participate in the installation and implementation of new PCs, as well as the modification of existing systems; and install and upgrade PC software, as budgeted. We’ll rely on you to support end-users by providing training and answering technical questions; use IT ticketing system to manage and track user communication and server equipment; support communication building conference room audio/visual equipment; and comply with safety policies, practices and procedures.
Our ideal candidate is a results-oriented self-starter with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT , or a related discipline, as well as:
- At least 5 years’ recent system administration experience in Microsoft Windows and Linux server environments
- Experience with MS Office products
- Effective communication skills
- The ability to work effectively with others and with limited supervision
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with:
· Proficiency in Access Database design and management
· Experience with Citrix, remote access, VPNs and networking equipment
